Hilary Glegg

Hilary works as an architectural designer for Cambridge University. She has three grown-up children who now live in Israel, where she herself lived for 20 years. In her spare time Hilary likes to read a lot of contemporary literature and to keep fit.

 

Carol and Brian Prior

Carol and Brian are now retired. Brian worked as an ambulance driver and Carol ran a driving school for several years. Brian's main hobby now is model aircraft making. Carol's hobbies include carpet bowls, yoga and ballroom dancing.

 

Maria Sinclair

Maria works part time for a medical company in Cambridge. She enjoys gardening and walking her two dogs, as well as cooking and listening to music. She has hosted students for many years and often finds it very hard to say goodbye when it's time for them to leave! She has two grown-up sons.

 

Mike and Sue Potts

Mike and Sue Potts are a middle-aged couple with two children. Their twins Alice and Thomas were born in 1992 and are both keen on sports such as tennis, basketball and swimming. Mike is a business manager for Shell International. He travels a lot and for three years the whole family lived in Japan. They thoroughly enjoyed this experience and still have close friends there. Sue was brought up in Italy where her father worked for United Nations, and she is fluent in Italian.

 

Chris and Rachel Mayne

Chris and Rachel Mayne are a middle-aged couple with two children, Olivia (born in 1991) and William (born in 1999). Chris is a self employed carpenter and Rachel works part-time for a school travel company. She has taught English as a foreign language and is able to speak French, Spanish and German herself. They all enjoy travelling and try to go abroad as often as possible. They love eating out and going out to the theatre and cinema. They have a full and varied social life which they are happy to share with their students.
