I worked as a teacher in The Middle East and Spain before returning to Cambridge. I taught General English at all levels as well as many examination courses. I was Director of Studies at the school before becoming Principal in 2005.

I studied Civil Engineering at Manchester University, followed by working in London and travelling extensively around the world. Having re-trained as an English teacher, I then worked in the Basque Country for 3 years I started working at NSE in 1996, first as a teacher, and then moved into Sales and Marketing 2 years later.

I worked in a Customer Service role for a High Street bank for many years before joining the school as Registrar in 2007. My job is very varied; I deal with all administrative matters and I also have a lot of contact with students. I love meeting and working with people of all ages from around the world.

Victoria Scally - Accommodation Officer

I began working at the school as the Accommodation Officer in 2010. I have lived in Cambridge all of my life, but have travelled extensively. I love the outdoors, particularly the mountains, where I spent several winters working and skiing in various resorts around Europe. I am also a crew member on a yacht, and have raced at national and international events.

I began my career as a Secondary School teacher having qualified at the universities of Bristol and Cambridge. I worked in the UK and in Germany before settling in Cambridge. As my family grew I taught part-time at various language schools in the city before discovering the New School! After many years as a teacher here I became Director of Studies in 2005.

I studied history at Reading University before doing a Masters degree in Historiography at the LSE. I worked as a teacher in Jiangsu Province, China and Brittany, France before returning to Cambridge in 1990. I became the MD of the school in 1994

Isobel Newport-Mangell - Co-Director

I became co-owner of the school with Tim in 1994, where I was already working as a teacher. I am a fluent French speaker, I'm married with two children, and I currently work two days a week at the school. I enjoy playing classical music on the piano and cello, and I also sing in the local choir.

Claire Robertson - Social Activities Organiser

I joined The New School of English as the Social Activities Organiser in January 2013. I organise weekly social activities such as sports, movies, arts, crafts, meals at local restaurants, musicals, plus one day and weekend trips to museums and other cities and places of interest. I am also here to help look after your welfare and will always advise and guide you with a smile during your stay.

I worked at an Accountancy firm in Cambridge when I first became involved with the school in 1994, helping with their accounts. I then became a permanent member of the school in September 2002 becoming their Accounts Manager.
